Juan Torres’ responsibilities include the delivery of audit, review, compilation and management consulting services to privately and publicly held entities, governmental entities and non-profit organizations. During a career that spans more than 20 years, he has provided service to homebuilders, construction contractors, hospitality services, energy-related companies, manufacturing, education, healthcare services, transportation and real-estate management. 



Mr. Torres is the firm’s designated principal for employee benefit plans and is a member of the Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center. His experience includes audits of various types of benefit plans such as defined contribution, defined benefit, and health and welfare plans. Mr. Torres also provides services for benefit plans required to file Form 11K with the SEC. Prior to joining MFR, he was with a Big Four firm for seven years. 



His broad experience translates into in-depth business knowledge for our clients, especially when coupled with his financial audit and accounting expertise. Mr. Torres has assisted in bond feasibility reviews, compliance reviews of federal funding, litigation support, process reviews, management evaluations, employment searches and transition management, along with risk identification and profit enhancement. 



He holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in accounting from the University of North Texas. Mr. Torres’ professional involvement includes AICPA membership, participation on the Business Issues Committee for the Greater Houston Partnership, and past posts as board member and treasurer of the Arc of Greater Houston. Within the community, Mr. Torres is involved with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, serving as chairperson for the 2006 and 2007 relays. A firm believer in the value of education for our young children, Mr. Torres frequently speaks to high school and middle school students on the subject of education. Additionally, he recently joined the board of directors for the Collaborative for Children, serving as the treasurer.
