A senior consultant with MFR in its Healthcare Advisory Services Practice, Vanessa Rigsby has over 14 years of social-service case management experience gained from working with a local social-service agency, an academic organization and one of Houston’s largest healthcare systems. Her experience includes providing case management to individuals requiring counseling needs, along with program management for a grant-supported outreach program. Ms. Rigsby also acted as field instructor for graduate-level social work students from the University of Houston Graduate School of Social Work.

Before joining MFR, she was the program manager for Outreach Education for Baylor College of Medicine’s Teen Health Clinic, where she was responsible for day-to-day program operations and establishing compliance guidelines and clinical protocols for specific program activities. She created and maintained program plans, schedules and budgets, and was responsible for providing timely and accurate assessments and status reports to executive management. Ms. Rigsby also performed special case management, crisis counseling and patient advocacy, and managed external partnerships with local agencies and organizations. She also developed methods to promote the Teen Health Clinic objectives to the public.

Ms. Rigsby is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and has worked in a social-service case management capacity while at Baylor, Memorial Hermann Health System and the Harris County Mental Health & Mental Retardation Authority. As a social worker, Vanessa provided individual assessment services along with counseling and group education to promote physical and mental health to adolescents. She also performed community outreach training and education concerning crisis intervention, and provided guidance and referral services to her clients for medical, social, vocational and residential placement services.

Ms. Rigsby a holds a Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law and is an alumnus of the University of Houston Graduate School of Social Work. She also graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of St. Thomas, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in sociology.
