With more than 16 years’ public accounting experience, Elissa Posway provides assurance services to clients in a wide variety of industries. Throughout her career, Ms. Posway has managed and performed audits of public and privately held companies, non-profit organizations, community colleges and employee benefit plans. Her professional experience includes financial-statement audits performed in accordance with the auditing standards of the AICPA, Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, Government Auditing Standards and the Single Audit Act of 1996.

Since joining MFR, Ms. Posway has been instrumental in the delivery of employee benefit-plan audits and helps clients comply with the Department of Labor and ERISA filing requirements. She keeps current in this highly specialized industry by attending the AICPA’s National Conference on Employee Benefit Plans and reviewing publications from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. Prior to joining MFR, she worked with a Big Four accounting firm for eight years, where she specialized in the delivery of audit services to publicly and privately held companies.

Ms. Posway holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame. Her professional involvement includes membership in the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans; Healthcare Financial Management Association, Texas Gulf Coast Chapter; American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is a member and 2008 graduate of the Center for Houston’s Future.
