Philip LeBlanc is a director in MFR’s Healthcare Advisory Services practice. In this role, he provides hands-on direction in the provision of services to the firm’s clients, including completion of service agreements outlining client expectations of the firm, development of work plans for the staff and follow-up with clients to ensure service excellence. He brings more than 17 years of internal audit, healthcare compliance and accounting experience, with a primary focus on the healthcare industry.

Before joining MFR, Philip served as the corporate compliance officer, director of internal audit and privacy officer for two separate hospital systems. During that time, he was responsible for developing, managing, monitoring and maintaining the hospital systems’ compliance program and internal audit plan. Philip has experience in conducting comprehensive health system risk assessments, and he understands the challenges in managing risks in today’s ever-changing healthcare environment. He has also monitored organizational HIPAA compliance through random reviews and ongoing training to all health system personnel. Philip developed and conducted annual compliance training for all health system employees, including periodic, specific compliance training targeting certain compliance and regulatory laws such as EMTALA and Stark Law.

Prior to serving as compliance officer and director of internal audit for hospital systems, Philip served as an engagement manager for a professional services firm. Philip was responsible for ensuring that various engagements were conducted in accordance with agreed-upon terms and that high-quality, on-time services were delivered to clients. He was responsible for the outsourcing of internal audit functions for a large hospital system. He was also responsible for helping develop complex compliance assessments in both the healthcare and financial services industries, including performance of organizational risk assessments and managing a multi-state financial services compliance assessment.

Mr. LeBlanc holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and he is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in both Louisiana and Texas. He is very active in his community and is on the school board of St. James Episcopal Day School. Philip was also a corporate coordinator for ALS Association of Louisiana’s Walk to D’Feet ALS®.
