With more than seven years of audit experience, Matt Kimbrough provides financial and compliance audits to publicly and privately held companies, as well as not-for-profit organizations. His experience includes audits of benefit plans, retail and wholesale companies, and not-for-profit single audit compliance. During his career, Mr. Kimbrough spent two years with the Internal Audit Department of Lennar where he assisted in developing and testing compliance requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. He focused on financial and compliance audits of homebuilding and land construction, joint venture projects, mortgage companies, and home and land sales.

Mr. Kimbrough leads training in audit compliance with funding sources for not-for-profit organizations, as well as internally. He was also an instructor in compliance for new Lennar controllers, focusing on the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. He has given several speeches to local universities in efforts to develop young professionals and assist in the recruiting of top talent.



Mr. Kimbrough is a graduate of the University of Houston with dual Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in accounting and marketing. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor, and obtained a Professional Selling Certificate from the University of Houston’s Program for Excellence in Selling. Mr. Kimbrough is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Association – Houston Chapter, the University of Houston Alumni Association, Greater Houston Partnership and United Way’s Young Leaders.
