SUPERVISING SENIOR

- Requires minimum management supervision
- Provides supervision, instruction and guidance to staff auditors
- Train, coach and manage entry-level accounting staff, offering guidance on developing rapport with clients
- Supervises multiple engagements at one time
- Supervise and/or perform risk assessments
- Supervise the revision and/or preparation of audit programs
- Assists in setting and monitoring the deadlines for the various projects
- In charge the more complex and highly confidential engagements
- Knowledgeable in applicable AICPA and/or IIA standards
- Conduct client meetings
- Identify the cause(s) or contributing factors related to an issue
- Supervise the drafting of the initial report and management letter and discuss with the client

TAX MANAGER

The Tax Manager is responsible for the delivery of a full range of tax services for multiple clients in a wide variety of industries. Responsibilities include interacting closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise; providing primary and secondary review of tax returns; developing and managing staff; and working closely with principals and staff on client management, practice development, and business development activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEngagement delivery
- Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.
- Manage, direct, and monitor client service team on client engagements; plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects in a wide variety of industries; provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients; and manage to budget.
- Conduct primary and secondary review of tax returns including Corporate, S-Corp., partnership, not-for-profit, and individual clients.
- Research and consult on various tax matters.
- Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, ensure deadlines are met, and lead change efforts effectively.
- Consult, work with, and service client to make recommendations on business and process improvement and serve as a business advisor to client.
- Work closely with principals, managers, and staff to integrate practice development skills into a team approach to client service and new business development.
- Maintain strong client relations and cross-sell services.
Staff development
- Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on tax projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews.
- Coach senior associates and associates in developing and achieving goals and objectives for performance and professional development.
- Recruit and retain senior associates and associates.
Practice development and other
- Team with principals on proposals and business development calls.
- Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis.
- Perform other job-related duties as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSLicensing/Education
- CPA
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a preference for a Masters in Taxation.
Professional technical expertise
- Five to seven years of progressive federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in public accounting or a combination of corporate and public accounting experience.
- Experience in Corporate, S-Corp. and/or Partnership returns.
- International tax experience a plus.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills.
- Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology.
Management experience
- Strong experience in staff and tax management in an integrated client service team.
- Ability to manage and develop staff in a highly interactive team environment.
- Practice development experience is preferred.
- Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
- Excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Other
- Ability to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites.
