Houston, Texas (December 1, 2010) – MFR, P.C., a leading Houston-based provider of audit, tax  and business advisory services, announced today that Mario E. Garcia has joined the firm as a Senior Manager in their quickly expanding tax practice.  

Mr. Garcia has several years of experience in public accounting, primarily in Big 4 firms, serving middle-market clients and high net-worth individuals.  Mr. Garcia served a broad base of clients in the manufacturing, services and oil and gas industries including those with foreign parent companies from various countries such as Spain, Mexico, India and the United Kingdom. 

Mr. Garcia most recently worked in the tax department of a utilities and energy company focused entirely in emerging markets.  There, he was responsible for transfer pricing documentation procedures, Sarbanes-Oxley controls maintenance and documentation, tax planning projects, and accounting and reporting under ASC 740.
