Meet Amy
About Me
I grew up in Katy, Texas. I studied Health Information Management in undergrad and I was the VP of my sorority. It was in school that I really started to develop my leadership and professional skills. Before joining MFR, I worked for a multi-physician clinic. I was responsible for records management, coding, quality assurance evaluations of clinical documentation, and patient satisfaction operations. These days, my after-work time is packed with pursuing my MBA at Texas Women's University.
Why I Joined MFR
One of the senior managers in MFR's Healthcare practice, Tara DeAndrea, knew the Director of my program in undergrad. The Director encouraged me to interview for the staff position at MFR. I was shocked to meet someone like Tara with a strong background in healthcare information management. I thought MFR was only for accountants. I was impressed with Tara and decided to join. She continues to be a mentor for me.
Why I Stay at MFR
I really enjoy the people I work with. I learn something new from them every day! MFR's healthcare team has experience in a wide range of healthcare operations beyond healthcare information management, so I feel like I am continually building up my healthcare-related skill set. My managers encourage education and training, which is really important to me. My team has been supportive as I pursue my MBA.
Outside of Work
I enjoy working out, spinning and cycling, and playing volleyball. I love animals. I have two dogs, a boxer name Lexi and a yellow lab named Sampson. My family is still in the Houston area, so we spend a lot of time together.
