Roland Rodriguez helped co-found MFR in 1988 and now serves as the firm’s managing principal. Mr. Rodriguez brings more than 30 years of public accounting and business acumen to the firm. He began building his accounting and consulting background during his 10-year tenure with an international Big Four accounting firm. He has been instrumental in leading MFR to become one of the the largest Hispanic-owned CPA firms in the U.S. Mr. Rodriguez is often the key coordinator for many clients’ business activities relating to financing and strategic planning.

Gasper Mir III co-founded MFR in 1988 and now serves as a principal, leading the firm’s administrative group. Mr. Mir is primarily responsible for the firm’s strategic planning, human resources and client relations. With more than 35 years of public accounting and executive leadership experience, he provides results-oriented advice to MFR clients regarding business development and change management. Mr. Mir began his public accounting career with KPMG Peat Marwick, where he worked for 18 years, including 10 years as an audit partner in Houston and three years in KPMG’s Madrid, Spain office.

David Ahola leads the Internal Audit team within the Consulting & Advisory Services practice. Mr. Ahola has more than 25 years of experience in finance, operations, EDP audits and fraud investigations in a variety of industries including airlines, airport systems, construction, franchises, metal fabrication services, oil and gas, real estate, restaurants and utilities. He has extensive experience managing internal audits of oil and gas, energy, government, educational and commercial entities. Additionally, Mr. Ahola teaches a course on Enterprise Risk Management at the University of Houston.

Francisco V. Diaz has more than 30 years of business, financial, accounting, audit and engineering experience in public accounting and private industry. Using his broad international business experience in financial executive, consultant and auditor roles, Mr. Diaz has been invaluable to international clients. He provides solid financial and tax information, particularly in the area of compliance related to United States tax and financial rules and regulations. Mr. Diaz has experience advising companies with operations in diverse fields such as distribution, manufacturing, engineering, retail and service industries.

Dan Hanson has more than 25 years of public accounting experience and has practiced in virtually all areas of taxation. He has experience in working with companies large and small, including many Fortune100 companies, in the manufacturing, retail, distribution, service, energy and banking industries. In addition to serving as a member of the firm’s leadership team, Mr. Hanson is one of the three partners serving clients through MFR’s office in The Woodlands. Before joining MFR, Mr. Hanson was a partner at several large accounting firms. Most recently, he managed his own firm, Hanson Tax Group, based in The Woodlands, Texas.

Mr. Martina has more than 25 years of experience in international business planning and tax optimization strategies for both U.S.-based firms with operations outside of the U.S. and internationally-based companies with a U.S. presence. He offers clients assistance with due diligence, workout assignments, regulatory compliance, FCPA compliance, M&A advisory, tax consulting and tax optimization. Prior to joining MFR, Mr. Martina was the partner-in-charge of International Tax Services for a Big Four firm's entire Southwest region.

Juan Padilla has more than 17 years of audit experience. Mr. Padilla’s experience and exposure to a wide variety of clients and industries has enabled him to become a trusted business advisor and qualified financial auditor with a broad base of knowledge.

Elissa Posway leads MFR’s External Audit & Assurance practice. With more than 18 years of public accounting experience, she provides assurance services to clients in a wide variety of industries. Throughout her career, she has managed and performed audits of public and privately-held companies, nonprofit organizations, community colleges and employee benefit plans. Her professional experience includes financial statement audits performed in accordance with the auditing standards of the AICPA, Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, Government Auditing Standards and the Single Audit Act of 1996.

Mark has over ten years of external audit experience focusing on private companies and SEC registrants in exploration and production, oilfield services, manufacturing and distribution, and construction industries. Recent experience also includes managing a complex $400 million IPO process for a high profile, private offshore exploration and production company with over a billion in assets. Mark also possesses SOX 404 implementation and integrated audit experience. Mark has extensive experience teaching CPE courses in a wide array of topics including O&G (upstream) accounting and auditing, audit risk standards, SEC comment letters, paperless platform, and 401k audits. Mark has been a guest lecturer at University of Houston.
