Houston, TX (February 1, 2009) — MFR, a leading local provider of accounting and business consulting services, recently participated in preparation efforts for the 30th Annual City Wide Club Thanksgiving Big Feast.
Approximately 55 volunteers from MFR were on-hand November 26, 2008 at the George R. Brown Convention Center to help prepare the turkey dinner and all the trimmings. The actual event took place the following day at the convention center, ensuring a hot Thanksgiving meal and fellowship for those in need.
"MFR enjoyed the opportunity to have been able to take part in such a worthy cause," said Gasper Mir III, chief operating officer and one of the founding principals at MFR. "We have been a part of the Houston business community for more than 20 years. At MFR, ‘People count’ is not only our tagline – it’s the guiding principle that reflects what we do and, more importantly, how we do it."
The 30th Annual City Wide Club Thanksgiving Big Feast enjoyed another successful year, with an estimated 22,000 people in attendance. All excess food was donated to the End Hunger Network and the Houston Food Bank.
